It has been a while! So sorry! There will be many paintings to show and soon but for now here are a few sketches I did at the AGO the other day.
Last figure drawing of the semester. It became smoother than my first. Total time of this is about 7 hours.
16x20, charcoal powder and vine charcoal
Digital painting/collage for class. Lot of experimenting, lending itself to a playful theme! It was a long weekend painting those clouds though. A lot harder than portraiture for some reason.
This season’s self portrait by mirror. You would think I am obsessed with myself, but that is not the case!
13x17, charcoal
My first proper digital painting for class purposes! It is a portrait of my friend Grace (who you may recognize in two other paintings) and the concept was to do it in a classical portrait style. It was an enriching experience. Perhaps more digital paintings in the future, there are no toxic chemicals involved!
My first acrylic piece in a long long time. Does anyone know what the star flowers are? I got them at a flower shop and they are really neat. The buds were like beach balls then bloom into stars!
acrylic 16x24
hey, sorry about the inactivity, but here is my first(ish) life drawing of the semester!
Hello everybody! Sorry for the silence. I have had a busy summer. I appreciate all the likes, reblogs and follows I recieve! Due to this not being my ‘first’ blog on tumblr though, I can’t return the love as easily! They should really change that.
Anyways, I would like to take the time to share the collection I have on this pre-emerging artist site http://www.start-gallery.com/collections/rebecca-brook . It is pretty much what is posted here, but available for purchase!
I hope to have some more work posted soon as school will be starting and means more painting!
Grace kindly offered to pose in a hanbok, specifically a jeogori and chima. I love these outfits! I tried extra hard on the folds and I am extremely happy with it.
This is the second painting of Grace. My aim was to improve my technical skills so the two paintings go off in their own direction as I am just exploring.
My friend Grace was kind enough to pose for me twice. This is the first painting. My aim was to improve my technical skills so the two paintings of Grace go off in their own direction as I am just exploring.
Everyone seems to compliment my noses and lips (on thepaintings, not on me). Is this normal? Surely it is.
